Cut from AS/NZS 3679.1 UC

Tees made by splitting a universal column along the web centreline, used for heavier truss chords. Dimensions, section properties, AS 4100 capacities and free DXF drawings for all 13 sizes.

Column tees (CT) are cut from universal columns along the web centreline. Their wide flange gives a stiffer, more stable tee for heavier truss chords and struts.

A tee's centroid sits close to the flange, so the elastic modulus to the stem tip (Z_x) is much smaller than to the flange (Z_xf). Tees are singly symmetric, and in compression flexural-torsional buckling can govern; the φN_c values shown are for flexural buckling only.

## Frequently asked questions

**How is a CT designated?**

By half the parent UC's nominal depth and half its mass: a 100CT23.1 is cut from a 200UC46.2.

## Relevant Australian Standards
